In accordance with Senate Bill 7026, the Mental Health Assistance Plan was created to assist school districts in establishing or expanding school -based mental health care.
Miami-Dade County Public Schools' (M-DCPS) Department of Mental Health Services was developed to coordinate District and community resources in an effort to deliver evidence-based mental health services and treatment for M-DCPS students.
Mental health challenges among children and adolescents can affect the way students typically learn, behave, or handle their emotions, which in turn can cause challenging situations while working through their daily activities.
